6/20/2002Mi Mexico II is still a solid choice for Mexican food in the overlake area. On this trip, we sampled some more standard Mexican fare. The Deluxe Burrito was good, as was the Chicken Enchilada. I had high hopes for the Fried Ice Cream, and it was okay, but not outstanding. I guess I'll continue my quest for great Deep Fried Ice Cream. If you know of a good place, drop us a line! We would love to know about it. Bottom Line: Good Mexican food, deserving a place in your restaurant rotation.6/19/2001Mi Mexico II must be the second restaurant of some existing family restaurant, since it just opened recently. But we don't know where the original is. This one has a convenient location on Bel-Red road, and has above-average Mexican food at fair prices. We tried the Mexican Flag plate, an assortment of different meats, sauces and sides. Good
for the person who can't decide what they want (like me). We also had Pollo con Crema (chicken
in a cream sauce), which was also hearty and satisfying. The chips and salsa were standard,
but the margaritas were the highlight of the dinner - good and strong! Some Sopapillas polished
off the meal for dessert, although they were the standard americanized kind.
