9/24/2002The Leschi Daniel's Broiler location is definitely the least well known of it's three locations. That's what gives it it's charm. It's locate just north of I-90 on the Seattle side of Lake Washington, and it's right on the water by a marina. Every table in the place has a spectacular view out over the water and it's away from the bright city lights. What a place to enjoy a fancy dinner. And fancy it is! This is a top echelon steakhouse, with informed and helpful wait staff, great steaks, a fabulous wine list, and an excellent bartender. We had the filet mignon, and the house special - a new york steak with their peppercorn sauce. Both were excellent, and cooked exactly the way we ordered. Going back, I would opt for the filet personally. Sides included their garlic mashed potatoes, some asparagus spears, and a tomato and onion salad (my personal favorite). I also got a Bombay Saphire martini, which was superb, and I highly recommend it to martini lovers. Top it off with a Valrhona chocolate cake, and you're in heaven. The food, service, and atmosphere were all so great, it's hard to come up with any
criticisms. As far as quality goes, Daniel's gets a 5 stars, no question. However, we gave
it 4 simply because the prices are high, and it is a bit out of the way for Redmondites.
For great steaks for less money, go with Jak's in Issaquah.
But if you're looking for a great steakhouse for a special occasion, I recommend Daniels over
a lot of the more touted steakhouses like The Met. It won't disappoint.
